We all know the importance of having an amazing professional resume so that we can get the job that we love and deserve. We know that in order to be qualified and considered for a position we have to have certain skills, talents, and abilities, in order to get the job done.
Well a personal resume is just as important as a professional resume. In order to attract a mate, land a position, or simply love you who are, you have to do something!
Here are 5 ways you can build your personal resume!
-
Travel- For my 2015 vision board I put “Epic Travels” because I wanted to explore the world. I have been to three countries this year and have planned an amazing trip for the beginning of 2016. When you travel you can gain a new perspective on the world, appreciate beauty, meet amazing people, visit amazing places, and so much more. If you can’t travel out of the state or country, visit new places in your hometown. Go on an exploration to find something new.
-
Read– Reading is fundamental. Yes we know the old adage, but it is very true. Reading keeps you young and interesting. How many times have you had conversations with people that were just really stale? Well you can bring up the current book that you are reading or books you are interested in reading to spark the conversation. I remember about almost 10 years ago I went on a job interview and one of the questions was, “What was the last book you read?” It caught me off guard, but luckily I had an answer. Some people haven’t read a good book since high school or college, so challenge yourself to pick up some new reading.
-
Exercise– *insert sigh* I will get this part of my life together soon enough. When you exercise you have lots of energy, and when you have lots of energy you can get a lot of things done. You can also encourage people to complete a 5k with you, go to yoga, spin class, or other interesting activities.
-
Cook- I love experimenting in the kitchen. Sometimes I just look in my fridge, freezer, and cabinets and whip up the most random, but delicious meal. I watch the Cooking Channel and Food Network a lot to get ideas and inspiration. It’s great to have your go to dishes that you always, cook but try something new and surprise yourself and your loved ones.
-
Volunteer- We are in the midst of the holiday season, so organize a food, toy, or coat drive. Volunteer at the Boys and Girls club. Spend your time giving back to the community. Not only will you enrich the lives of others, but you will enrich your own as well.
