Today is my birthday *Insert Happy Dance Here* and as I sit pool side in Puerto, Morelos-Mexico listening to Solange’s album “A Seat at the Table” I decided to write this post. At some point during the year when I was 29 I said to myself, “I cannot wait until I’m in my 30s.” My twenties were an interesting time period. I was trying to figure things out regarding my relationship with God, my finances, my relationships, my career, and so many other things. I thought in my 30s it would be better and that I would have figured it out. Ummmmm yeah that’s not the case. The last two years have been hard, probably the hardest I’ve ever experienced because I wanted to do things my way and not God’s way. 2016 has definitely been a roller coaster for many areas of my life. I was like, “Janique, what is your life about?” I always say this to my students that are doing things they shouldn’t be doing. I was now in that position with Jesus.
